#SAINTKITTSANDNEVIS has been elected President of the Escazú Agreement – a landmark achievement that underscores the able leadership of our twin-island Federation and small island developing states (SIDS) in general on the global stage.
Decided following the recently held UN-ECLAC’s Fourth Conference of the Parties (COP4) in Nassau, Bahamas, this milestone reflects our nation’s unwavering commitment to environmental democracy: ensuring access to information, public participation, and justice in environmental matters. In this role, our Federation’s priorities will be to champion inclusive, transparent, and accountable approaches to protecting our people and our natural resources.
Our country is working to shape a more environmentally resilient future – not just for our islands, but for all SIDS and the wider world.
